Levitite is a manamaterial with a unique property of repelling other materials, which presents most frequently as freely levitating in the air. Levitite passively absorbs mana to produce a localized anti-grativational effect. It is a low-density and highly plastic material, similar in consistency to clay, with a whitish-blue color.
A larger mass of levitite produces a stronger repulsive force. Small clumps of levitite may only hover a few centimeters above a surface, while huge levitite mounds can hover hundreds or thousands of meters up. Levitite has an attractive force to other levitite, and when multiple clumps of levitite touch they merge into a single piece, increasing the total repulsive force.
Despite the repulsive effect, with enough effort other materials can be attached to levitite and structures can be built on it. Zanskar Village is one example of structures built on levitite, and people even living on it. However, constructions built using levitite are inherently unstable, and often do not last long enough to be worth the effort.
If there is not enough mana to absorb, such as in a mana scar, levitite will begin to break apart and fall as it runs out of mana.
