“A very long time ago, before stars shone or water flowed, the Alatua danced all of creation into existence. They were so pleased with Mezia that they settled here and created every living thing you've ever seen. Our most ancient ancestors lived among the Alatua and were blessed with peace and prosperity. Together they created beautiful gleaming cities and used limitless mana to soar across the sky or dive deep in the sea.
But one day the Alatua vanished. That night the sky erupted with thousands of meteors, which brought manastones to Mezia and granted all living things the ability to channel mana like the Alatua did. Some used this power to help, others to control. Some creatures were mutated into massive hulking behemoths that leave terror and destruction in their wake. Without the Alatua, order fell to chaos, wars erupted, the land was reduced to rubble, and people lost their lives to monsters, tyrants, and starvation.
For millenia we believed the world would always be this way, but not anymore. A new meteor shower brought more manastones and sparked a new fight to destroy the tyrants and behemoths. Some heroes are already making a name for themselves. Will you be next?”
Mezia is a fantasy world, and Mezia RPG is a tabletop role-playing game set in this world. The two work together to tell the story of a planet on the brink of tremendous change and the people fighting to change it. Embarking on an adventure in Mezia is treacherous. Small pockets of civilization are dominated by tyranical rulers, but living under the heel of a tyrant is still safer than being cast out. The vast wilderness of Mezia is full of outlaws, monsters, and behemoths that will quickly snuff out anyone who shows up unprepared. But hope is not all lost. A meteor shower recently brought new manastones to Mezia, and those who find and control the manastones will be the ones writing the next chapter of Mezia's history.
