Metal mana (aka iron or alloy mana) is mana converted into blocks of metal. Metal mana is the most compressed form of elemental mana and decays the slowest.

Metal mana is not commonly used by creatures, but those that do use it either have nearly impenetrable shells or very dangerous claws, teeth, or spikes.

Metal spells are useful to blacksmiths, who can do much of their work using mana instead of a hammer and anvil. Powerful metal mages can create walls of metal or divert a barrage of arrows.

Metal can deal crushing or bleeding damage depending on how it is shaped.

Springs

Metal mana originates from metal springs, which take the form of twisted forests of metal, forming a barrier of sharp thorns. Metal springs signal rich deposits of some metallic ore are nearby. Metal springs are class 1, dangerous to those unprepared for them.
