Alish is the largest city and capital of Alishtahan. It has a population of ~850,000 people, the majority being Alish and Hurran with a small minority of Defersi and foreigners.
Alish is a coastal city. The majority of its fresh water comes from groundwater reserves and the Thamsa River, but some people, especially those living near the coast, distill seawater for their fresh water needs.
Alish is the political capital of Alishtahan, and thus is the seat of the Grand Judicar, Ziyan Khadra. Ziyan is generally regarded as harsh but fair.
