Spirit mana is mana that attracts spirits. Spirit springs do exist, but they are different than other mana springs. A Spirit spring is like a door for spirits to enter the material world that can be opened and closed. Depending on the kind of spirits the spring attracts, it can be mostly harmless or incredibly dangerous. All spirits use spirits mana to remain in the material world, and can use it for a variety of effects. Spirits spells usually consist of inviting a spirit to help with some task. Spirit doesn’t deal damage, but the summoned spirits can. A powerful Spirit mages can summon an army to do their bidding.

Spirit magic is sometimes called summoning magic, because it is often used to summmon spirits to do the caster's bidding.
