Bleed is a condition with Health/Stamina Loss effects. Bleed could lead to Illness or Doom if left untreated.

Causes and Effects

Bleed is caused by cut or pierced skin. Bleed is a common effect of weapon attacks, as well as spells that use Earth or Metal mana.

Bleed drains health and stamina every turn in combat and prevents health and stamina from naturally recovering out of combat.

Severity

Bleed severity increases when the bleed condition is applied to one who already has it, and decreases when one is healed. Bleed severity does not increase or decrease over time.

At Severity 5 a character becomes doomed in addition to losing health and stamina. Doom has a 24 hour trigger, and can be prevented if bleed is completely cured.

Infection

Characters with bleed are more susceptible to infection, so they have a -3 penalty to rolls made to resist illness.

Healing

Bleed can be healed with a med kit, potions, or healing spells.

A bandage can stop the effects of bleeding temporarily.
