Curse is a condition with Healing Impacts, Antisocial effects.
Causes and Effects
Curse is caused by malicious spirit mana. Most spirits and some undead are capable of inflicting curses, as well as mages wielding spirit spells.
Curse blocks healing of any other conditions. Conditions that end on their own or conditions that can be removed without healing (such as getting up from prone) can still be ended as normal. Health and stamina also continue to recover as normal and can be healed.
In addition, a cursed character causes others to feel uneasy around them, imposing a penalty in social situations. A specific penalty value is not stated because it depends on who the character is interacting with. A guard wanting to keep cursed people out of their town may have a very high penalty, while a priest used to helping cursed people may have no penalty.
Severity
Curse does have severities, but the effects at each severity are the same. The severity is determined by the effect that caused the curse, and multiple effects do not stack to increase the severity. If a character is cursed and an effect would impose a higher curse severity, apply the higher severity. For example, if a character had curse Severity 1 and an effect caused curse Severity 3, that character would now have curse Severity 3.
Healing
Curse can only be removed with a spirit spell powerful enough for the curse's severity.
Sometimes, a curse may have some action that can be performed to remove the curse. This may or may not be known when the curse is applied.
