The Defersi are an ethnic group indigenous to the Defersi Desert in central Xersia. The Defersi people's homeland covers parts of Alishtahan, Karromo, Talnier, Sybil, northern Marnutia, northern Ngunay, and much of the unclaimed parts of the Defersi Desert. Most Defersi people speak Fersi, with a few understanding Global.
The Defersi people are likely the most capable at living in the harsh Defersi Desert. They are nomadic, travelling between oases and using the limited vegetation and wildlife in the desert for food and water.
The Defersi are generally distrusting of outsiders due to their history of being oppressed. While the Defersi used to enjoy the entire expanse of the Defersi Desert as their territory, kingdoms countries began forming in some of the mana-rich parts of the desert, driving them from their ancestral lands and labeling them as savages and thieves. Talnier specifically has a history of attempting to wipe out the Defersi people entirely.
