This template creates a hatnote that allows flexible text with links to up to four pages.

Usage

This template accepts up to five unnamed parameters for text and links.

Default

With no parameters this template will produce a link to the disambiguation page for the article title.

Using {{For}} by itself will produce a link to the disambiguation page for the article title:

For more info, see For (disambiguation).

First parameter

The first parameter sets the text between For and , see in the hatnote.

Using {{For|the disambiguation page}} will change the text from the above example:

For the disambiguation page, see For (disambiguation).

Second parameter

The second parameter is used to change the link.

Using {{For|the hatnote template|Template:Hatnote}} will direct the reader to the desired page:

For the hatnote template, see Template:Hatnote.

Additional parameters

The third, fourth and fifth parameters are used to give one, two, or three additional links:

For more info, see Template:Hatnote and Category:Hatnote templates.

For more info, see Template:Hatnote, Category:Hatnote templates and Category:Redirect templates.

For more info, see Template:Hatnote, Category:Hatnote templates, Category:Redirect templates and For.

the last being produced by {{For| |Template:Hatnote|:Category:Hatnote templates|:Category:Redirect templates|For}}. Notice how the first parameter is omitted and the template defaults to more info.
