Burn is a condition with Health/Stamina Loss effects. Burn could lead to Illness or Doom if left untreated.

Causes and Effects

Burn can be caused by fire, lava, electricity, friction, or excessive heat or cold. Burn is a common effect of spells and weapons that use Fire, Electric, or Frost mana.

Burn drains health and stamina every turn in combat and prevents health and stamina from naturally recovering out of combat.

Severity

Burn severity increases when the burn condition is applied to one who already has it, and decreases when one is healed. Burn severity does not increase or decrease over time.

At Severity 5 a character becomes doomed in addition to losing health and stamina. Doom has a 24 hour trigger, and can be prevented if burn is completely cured.

Infection

Characters with burn are highly susceptible to infection, so they have a -6 penalty to rolls made to resist illness.

Healing

Burn can be healed with a med kit, potions, or healing spells.
