Poison is a condition with Health/Stamina Loss effects. Poison could lead to Illness or Doom if left untreated.

Causes and Effects

Poison is caused by ingesting, inhaling, or absorbing a poison, toxin, venom, or radiation. Poison is a common effect of spells and weapons that use Plant, Light, or Dark mana.

Poison drains health and stamina every turn in combat and prevents health and stamina from naturally recovering out of combat.

Severity

Poison severity increases when the poison condition is applied to one who already has it, and decreases when one is healed. Poison severity also increases every time a poisoned character's fatigue increases (except if immediately recovered by resting).

At Severity 5 a character becomes doomed in addition to losing health and stamina. Doom has a 24 hour trigger, and can be prevented if poison is completely cured.

Infection

Characters with poison are more susceptible to infection, so they have a -3 penalty to rolls made to resist illness.

Healing

Poison can be healed with a med kit, potions, or healing spells.
